A mid to late 20th century Michiyuki- a three quarter length kimono-style jacket traditionally worn as a coat over a kimono for extra warmth and to protect the fabric of the kimono whilst out and about. The low square neckline was designed to frame the overlapping neckbands of the kimono underneath.
For modern day use, it’s great as a comfortable lightweight jacket worn both casually or dressed up.
Made from textured silk hand-dyed with a monochrome and cherry blossom design.
In good condition with little sign of wear.
It’s quite a versatile size, and would fit most people up to around a UK size 16/18, but please use the measurements as a guide.
The hips measure 48”, but as it’s designed to be quite loose, it’s best for no more than a 44” hip- unless you’re happy to just wear it open, as is common. Armpit to armpit (chest) measures 50” laid flat, so best for no more than around a 44”/46” bust- again, this is unless you just wear it open.
