A very charming handmade trinket box, with a cut-out design of a horse and rider jumping over a fence. Made some point between the 1930s-1950s, though clearly inspired by Art Nouveau design from the end of the 19th century.
It’s been lovingly made by someone with skill and creativity, but likely minimal professional woodwork training. Made using scraps of wood stained to look like a more expensive wood, it’s a great piece of folk art.
In great condition with minimal signs of use.
