This oblong panel link chain necklace has a design distinctly influenced by both the late 19th century Art Nouveau movement and traditional Celtic design. Each panel is solid silver and stamped with a lion passant.
The central panel has a full hallmark. It’s very small and a little worn, so it’s not entirely clear to read but it’s definitely Birmingham and what looks to be the date letter for 1963. It also has a maker’s mark for the jewellery manufacturers Shipton & Co, established in 1870.
Length 43cm/17”.
