An original mid-century wooden cigar press by the German tobacco manufacturer, Haas & Derst. The two halves perfectly interlock to shape, dry and compress the tobacco leaves before being wrapped in a final outer layer.
As well as being a collector’s piece, the mould makes a great decorative item, whether on a shelf, mounted on a wall or repurposed into an even more imaginative form.
The press has been given a light wax to feed the wood without losing any of the patina and even the odd tobacco leaf fragment!
