A very high quality hand knotted rug made by the Turkmen tribes. Its size, shape and weight is typical of a tent rug, it was possibly used for a tent door which is why it has a strip on one end for pinning it in place.

The base colour is an attractive burgundy colour with shades of blue, green, red and even a small flash of yellow in the pattern.

The pile is thick and dense.

Light overall wear, no significant damage.
