Three Cats in a Window American Folk Art Painting

£95.00
sold out

A charming original painting of three cats gazing through a window. It has been painted in a distinct American folk art style with it’s mirrored presentation and vibrant colours contrasting against a flat and dark background. The frame looks to be “scratch built” using old repurposed pieces of wood.

It’s signed in the bottom corner but we unfortunately do not know any further details about the artist. The date looks to be ‘96, though it’s not very clear. The painting came from a collection of other American folk art, so we can at least presume the artist was American and likely known in their community in their lifetime.

There is a small area of damage to the edge of the painting near to the signature.

Frame measures 52.5cm x 38.5cm

Aperture measures 42.5cm x 28.5cm
