An early 20th century crystal ball on a raised brass base. The crystal ball is not fixed to the base but has a small flat circle so it sits on the base without rolling off. Not what you would call a full sized “fortune teller’s” crystal ball, but a nice size for sitting on a bookshelf or desk.
It’s made from quartz crystal, so it flips and reverses what you see in it, creating a mystical optical illusion.
The ball has some surface wear, scratches and a small dink, but it doesn’t greatly detract from its appearance.
Diameter approx 6cm. Height of brass stand 4.5cm.
