A very sweet original watercolour of an older lady (we’ll assume a grandmother), reading a book to her grandchildren who are all sat in front of a roaring fire. It’s dated to the late 1920s, though the grandmother is still in her Edwardian attire and avoiding the outrageous modern new fashions.
The frame has a little damage to the decorative relief work around the edge but otherwise both the painting and frame are in good condition.
