Original 1970s Soviet Propaganda Poster by Viktor Travin (Fighting Pencil)

£50.00

An original Soviet propaganda poster, printed in 1975. The poster is criticising religion and the title approximately translates to ‘You Do Not See God’s Light’. The image suggests the boy is eager to join the merry group of children outside but is being dragged away because of strict religious commitments.

The artwork is by Viktor Travin , a member of the ‘Fighting Pencil’, a creative association of Leningrad-based artists, responsible for producing many propaganda posters in the USSR during the Cold War.

This poster was part of a large portfolio of propaganda posters, put together by a group of artists and poets/writers. We have the original portfolio cover but there isn’t a complete collection of posters, so we’re selling them individually.

Some wear to the edges and small aging spots on the paper. There is also a number penned in the bottom corner.

Measures 56cm x 42cm.
