An original antique ledger book, bound in black leather and blue cloth with gilt layering on the spine 'Description Book.
Last used professionally in the early to mid 20th century, but the book itself looks to be older- c1900-1920, likely inherited with a business and repurposed.
A note on the inside states it belonged to a H.F. Jefferson in his shop and was later used by his granddaughter. Jefferson appears to have removed the pages he had filled with customer details etc, as the pages start at
118- there were originally 498 pages in total.
Of the remaining pages, the first few contain lists and notes written by Jefferson's granddaughter- and possibly other children.
The last couple of pages are also used. The pages that have been scribbled upon, have also been clipped on the corner.
Exterior is worn but stable, no looseness to the boards and spine.
