Oil on canvas of a flower arrangement in an antique planter titled ‘Spring Flowers’. Signed in the bottom corner by the artist- Irvine Ball with the date 1954. There are several labels on the back, including the artist’s address and a label for an art exhibit in Filey, 1955.
On the back of the canvas is the start of a previous painting, it looks to be a profile of a horse.
Frame is original to the era and does have a lot of patina but only minor wear and damage- a couple of chips to the moulding.
The painting has some chips but these have been stabilised and the surface protected with a light matte varnish.
