An incredible large original early 20th century lithograph poster. It may have been produced to be used for advertising or just as a decorative lithograph. But it’s also very likely to be a one off from the portfolio of an artist or printer to showcase their skill on a large scale.
It’s very similar in style to some well known artists of the time, such as Cecil Aldin, William Nicholson and Ludwig Hohlwein. There is unfortunately no clear signature on the front, but we have not dismantled the frame to check the back.
Condition- in generally good condition but with some signs of age related wear and tear, including some tanning of the paper, some small tears and ripples on the edges and a faint fold line (see photos). There is also the inky fingerprints of the printer on the edge, but we think this actually adds character!
Measures 144cm x 100cm. It is extremely heavy and will need to be either collected by the buyer or we’re happy to help arrange a courier.
