A small modernist enamel plaque of Saint Christopher, depicted as a giant carrying a child on his shoulder. Designed by Benedictine monk, Brother Adelmar Doelger (1911-1986). Made in the metal workshops at Muensterschwarzach Abbey in Germany.
The shape of the plaque is between a square and a circle with a slightly domed formation.
The plaque is mounted onto a felt covered mount with hanging rings on the back. The plaque itself might have a signature or details on the back but we can’t look without damaging the mount.
Only light surface wear, no significant chips to the enamel.
Mount measures 15.5cm x 15.5cm
Plaque alone measures 6.4cm x 6.2cm
