A charmingly naive hand-carved knitting sheath from the early to mid 19th century. The carver of the sheath has playfully altered the typical “goose wing” shape to make it look like a pointed boot.
They have initialled their work with HD or possibly backwards DH. The end of the handle is capped with copper.
