Original 1970s Soviet Propaganda Poster By Matvey Mazrukho (Fighting Pencil)

£55.00

An original Soviet propaganda poster, printed in 1975. The poster is criticising religion and the title translates to ‘Pay For Fear’.

The artwork is by Matvey Mazrukho, a member of the Fighting Pencil, a creative association of Leningrad-based artists, responsible for producing many propaganda posters in the USSR.

This poster was part of a large portfolio of propaganda posters, put together by a group of artists and poets/writers with a particular focus on religion. We have the original portfolio cover but there isn’t a complete collection of posters, so we’re selling them individually.

Some wear to the edges and small aging spots on the paper. There is also a number penned in the bottom corner.

Measures 56cm x 42cm.
