Original Sculptural Oil Pastel Studies By Gordon Young (1952-) [01]

£90.00
sold out

An original set of drawings by British artist Gordon Young. Born in Carlisle in 1952, Gordon Young is considered one of the UK’s leading artists in the field of public art.

These striking drawings capture figures in silhouette with a focus on interactions between pairs of people.

The drawings are in pencil and crayon with a signature and date of 1985. Gordon Young completed a number of sculpture commissions between the mid 1980s to the 1990s. These drawings bear a striking resemblance to his sculptures from that period, and are likely to be preliminary drawings in response to sculpture commissions.

The frame measures 82.5cm x 62.5cm

Aperture measures 77.5cm x 57.5cm

This set of drawings and three others currently in our possession were purchased as investments shortly after completion by a financial company, Provident (label on reverse). They have only recently been brought out of storage following the sale and dispersal of Provident.
