Collection Of Four c1930s Framed Prints After René-Yves Creston (1898-1964)

A set of four 1930s era prints taken from from original artwork by the great 20th century Breton artist, René-Yves Creston (1898-1964).

Creston was an illustrator, anthropologist, and a heroic resistance fighter during WWII. He was from Bretagne in northern France and was a staunch advocate for the preservation of the culture and languages of the Bretons. These four illustrations depict Bretons carrying out traditional work.
The prints were printed in the early to mid 1930s and the frames are of a similar period. The prints are on the backs of old menus from a French restaurant called Maison Prunier, further pieces of the menu have been used to pad the back of the print out in the frame.

The glass was broken in one of the frames, the glass has been replaced but it has left a small nick on the paper had a faint crease.
